CANDY CANE BROWNIE BALLS

This was our project today, Candy Cane Brownie Balls and they taste as good as they look. We had friends come over and help us with these delicious treats.

We still have a lot to catch up on., so come back soon...like our 12 days of Christmas lapbook and our Thanksgiving lapbook. First grade is AWESOME! And I thought everything I needed to know about life I learned in Kindergarten...silly me!

HORSE LAPBOOK AND FIELDTRIP

We are way behind on our posting here, but we have been busy and having fun! We did a horse lapbook and Isabella earned a Keepers at Home badge for it. We also took a fieldtrip to Sweet Dreams Horse Farm and Isabella LOVED IT!

So, here are some pictures of the fieldtrip and Isabella's lapbook. Look at her face, it was amazing to see the glow and joy she had the entire time we were there. Definitely something to pray about and see how the Lord leads.

FIELD TRIP AND BAKING

We went to the Miami Seaquarium and had an awesome time enjoying the shows, getting in the water misters (it was hot! hot! hot!) and seeing the sights.

They had lots of different kinds of birds.

Lolita the Killer Whale or Orca...spectaular!

They had a few manatees (sea cows). One had actually been injured by a boat, it was very sad.

Good 'ole flamingos!

Isabella and Annais' monkey cupcakes. Didn't they do a great job?

WEEK #2

This is the chapter book we are reading. Misty of Chincoteague. It is a great story about the ponies of Chincoteague Island and Pony Penning Day. Isabella really likes horses and we are learning a lot about them. We are also reading Girls and their Horses an American Girl book. We read about Wild Ponies, Mini Horses, Vaulters and Show Jumpers.

We made ice cream for a science experiment, a water balloon yo-yo and silhouettes of Isabella, Annais, and Kaira.

We learned about Arizona and Arkansas this week too. Isabella chose her two favorite projects to photograph and post here. She completed the crossword puzzle below all by herself. She loves crossword puzzles which is exciting to me because it will be great for vocabulary and spelling.

In our bible reading and devotional time we read from My Little Princess devotional book and the daily bible. Isabella's favorite story this week was Jacob's ladder and she wondered what it would be like if God talked to everyone that way. Our hymn this week was Amazing Grace, we learned the song and learned about Grace.
